Fresh Boko Haram Attack: Many Nigerian Soldiers Killed In Borno

The Terrorist group popularly known as Boko Haram and officially known as Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād (Arabic: جماعة أهل السنة للدعوة والجهاد‎, “Group of People of the Sunnah responsible for Preaching and Jihad“), is an organization based in northeastern Nigeria, which is also active in ChadNiger and northern Cameroon.


An unknown number of the Nigerian soldiers have been reported killed and a great number of others missing after an ambush was laid by the Boko Haram in Monguno, Maiduguri, Bornu state.

Monguno is a town in Bornu state over 100km north of Maiduguri, which is the capital of the state, the town hosts a large number of displaced people, mostly from Dikwa and Marte areas.

In a statement of a military source, many lives were lost from the attack,“We lost so many soldiers during the attack that lasted for many hours. May their souls rest in peace.

The source also said that many valuables were stolen during the ambush; military vehicles, several weapons and ammunition were all gone.

The Boko Haram terrorist organisation have killed thousands of people and displaced millions in the northeastern part of the country.

Earlier this year,the soldiers have been the target of the terrorist group.

Hundreds and thousands of the Nigerian soldiers and officers have been reportedly killed since the beginning of this year,January 2021.

A number of soldiers were killed earlier this year when two explosive-laden vehicles was packed into a military convoy in Wulgo. It was also claimed that four military vehicles were destroyed.

In February this year, about 20 soldiers were killed in Malari, Borno State by the Boko Haram attack
